Job Title: Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences Director/Faculty PositionStatus: Active
The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences Director to join the faculty at the College of Pharmacy. The appointment will be a full-time position in an innovative, student-centered academic Pharm.D. program. All courses are taught in an integrative, team-based learning environment that values personal and professional growth and development of each student. The curriculum emphasizes self-directed learning, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.
Faculty, Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Director. Successful candidates will have earned a pharmacy degree and have previous managerial experience. The responsibilities include helping manage all aspects of advanced pharmacy practice rotations including all activities that are associated with the development and implementation of current best practices and teaching goals. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, developing, maintaining and evaluating preceptors and practice sites in order to offer pharmacy students meaningful and challenging advanced practice experiences. The Director will help develop and maintain effective processes for assessing student and preceptor performance during the advanced experiences.The Director will work closely with the Assistant/Associate Dean for Experiential Education on accreditation and regulatory requirements, preceptor training, and development activities. The Director will also supervise the administrative aspects of the APPEs such as scheduling, policies, procedures, site support and implementing guidelines to attain high quality experiential rotations. Importantly, the Director of APPEs will also serve as faculty in the Fisch College of Pharmacy and assume responsibilities associated with the position such as teaching, scholarship and service.
The start date is as early as September 1, 2016. The competitive salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications to join the faculty in the College of Pharmacy. Appointments are for full-time, tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank.
The positions offer an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, student-centered academic Pharm.D. program. Integrated courses are taught in a team-based learning environment that values personal and professional growth and the development of each student. The curriculum emphasizes self-directed learning, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills.
Faculty, Clinical Sciences. Successful candidates will have earned a Pharm.D. with a residency or comparable degree and experience. Individuals with experience in all practice areas are encouraged to apply; those with expertise or interest in ambulatory care, family medicine, internal medicine, critical care, and/or cardiology will be preferentially considered. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining an innovative clinical practice in his/her chosen area of expertise that will support the experiential education of Pharm.D. students. Responsibilities also include contributing to the core and elective courses in the curriculum.
Faculty, Pharmacology. Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. or comparable degree in pharmacology or related field. Responsibilities include contributing to the development and delivery of the pharmacology component of the core classroom, laboratory, and elective courses within the Pharm.D. curriculum. Specific teaching and research experience in cardiovascular pharmacology or endocrine pharmacology is preferred, but not required.
